AN AUSTRALIAN woman is among 19 people baptised after a week-long convention by Global Apostolic Ministries Church in Lae last week.
Taking part during the convention were churches along the Miles area with over 1500 people participating.
The convention was co-hosted by Pastor Beverly Clarke, of New Creation church in Brisbane, Australia, who was accompanied by five others.
Global Apostolic Ministries senior pastor Peter Onga said the convention saw a good number of people turning up and showing commitment to God through baptism.
“The Miles area is known for lawlessness, but thanks to churches under the Body of Christ that give their time and efforts to change the place,” he said.
Onga said through different church activities held over the years, many young people had changed for the better.
“God is changing that area, unlike before when lawlessness was an everyday thing and lives and properties were lost,” he said.
“This is a very good sign. I urge all Christian churches there to do more to touch the lives of people.”
