AUSTRALIA’S Brisbane 3rd Brigade Commander Jake Elwoot is on the lookout for any need to provide additional assistance to engineers on the road in Madang.
Commander Gilbert Toropo, told The National that Elwoot will also be visiting 346 soldiers based in Hela and also inspect the ExxonMobil site and Baiyer Road in Madang.
He said Elwoot and his brigade had been responsible for training Papua New Guinean soldiers through the military bi-lateral agreement.
Toropo also said that two other high ranking military officers from New Zealand and the United States would also be visiting the country this
month.
US Army Deputy Commander John Johnson from the Pacific Command is coming from Hawaii on Thursday and New Zealand Chief of Army Major General John Bozwell in mid-April.
“Australia’s Chief of Army General Rick Burr will also be here for the ANZAC Day to attend the Dawn Service and visit the Usarava Monument.
“The defence force is very happy to receive the visitors and we look forward to working with them,” Toropo said.
