Authorities not seeing large potholes in city
The National, Friday 13th of February 2015
IT is very sad to see the road network around Gordons market and the main bus stop area being neglected.
The roads linking the police station to the former bus stop in front of the Gordons supermarket is becoming the city’s largest pothole zone.
The potholes are so huge that during rainy seasons, all roads here are no longer usable as there appear to be lakes and flood plains filling the potholes.
Now, my honest question is do the concerned authorities like NCDC, the North East member, the NCD governor and other leaders know about this public eyesore?
Do any of them have some quick remedies or are just casting a total blind eye while being carried away with big projects like the Kookaburra flyover, Paga Hill ring road, etc?
Most of the residents and road users within the vicinity are the very people who pay taxes to the government.
If it is concerned about giving something back to the people, then NCDC and the electorate should jointly prioritise in upgrading the road network within these areas.
