Authority welcomes executive’s appointment

THE Mineral Resources Authority (MRA) has welcomed the appointment of Musje Werror as the new managing director and chief executive officer of Ok Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML) in Western.
MRA managing director Jerry Garry said in a statement that Werror had a long association and proven track record of managing operations at Ok Tedi, after completing his graduate development scheme programme.
He said he looked forward to a productive working relationship with OTML under Werror’s leadership.
Garry assured Werror that the MRA was committed to providing effective regulatory services to OTML and the mining industry at large as per its mandate.
He added that the MRA and OTML had been working together on key community projects in recent times.
Some ongoing projects were the Fly River West Papua bulge villages compensation claim, the Bultem special mining lease (SML) village relocation project and the mine village/community mine continuation agreement (CMCA) community obligation engagement.
