B’ville needs leaders with visionary skills

 THE Autonomous Region of Bougainville should not rely on foreign aid and assistance from PNG. 

Bougainville should do its best to show the world and PNG that we can do it without their help. 

We should stop begging for their money and look for alternatives for our region.

If Korea can come out of slum and poverty to be the no.1 leader in technology, Bougainville can do it too. If Singapore, which does not have any natural resources, can develop into an economic power, what is stopping Bougainville to from following suit?

Bougainville needs the Koreans to share their secret of success, how they are the leaders in technology. Their secret has motivated them to strive amid poverty. 

We need motivators and not advisers. We need workers and not spectators. We should adapt the Korean way, which will motivate our people to achieve what they dream of. 

Bougainville does not need foreigners who compete in putting up their sign boards around the island to show how much they have accomplished. In the end, the livelihood of people in the rural areas still remains the same. 

We need people with the mission to change all and every individual person in Bougainville to be obliged in any small way towards our government.

There are also many Bougainvilleans outside the region with big ideas. In their field they are professors, doctors etc. whom the government of the day should involve in its pursuit for development and growth. 

God has given us the ability to develop ourselves. Both the leaders and ordinary citizen of Bougainville must work as one towards our dream. 

Through today’s sacrifice we will achieve tomorrow’s betterment. As the saying goes, from small beginning comes great things.

We are the people who will work together to make things happen; we need Bougainvilleans with a vision for our island. 

This is a vision that will lift every Bougainvillean  to achieve our dreams and goals. 

After all, our mighty God is the great adviser and motivator.
