B’ville PMV business on a roll

THE PMV route from Kokopau in Buka to Arawa and other parts of South Bougainville in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, is booming during the festive period.
PMV operators who make the daily trip from Arawa to Buka reported an increase in the number of passengers, mainly Bougainvilleans from other parts of the country who were returning for the festive period.
The PMVs there are not your average buses and trucks because of the road conditions.
They are fully-kitted Landcruisers, both open back and the enclosed 10-seaters, and because of their size, passengers fill the vehicles quickly and they have to leave early for their destinations.
Drivers are making more money with their vehicles this festive season.
