A NEW movie, The B-Team PNG is scheduled to start shooting  in Papua New Guinea in October, Gorilla Pictures executive producer Bill  Gottlieb announced on Monday.
Co-producer Stanley Nandex said the start of the project was delayed by the elections.
Nandex said Gorilla Pictures had already allocated US$3 million for post-production, hiring of actors, film promotion and marketing.
Another K3.5 million must be raised in PNG for logistics during the 40 days of filming in the country.
B-Team PNG chairman Robert   Kopaul said the government had already made a commitment of K3.5 million and is looking forward to the project which should have positive spinoffs economically, socially and culturally.
B-Team PNG will send an agent to Los Angeles to finalise the movie with the director and collect the movie script before October.
Gottlieb said B-Team PNG was invited by the Cannes Film Festival in Germany last month and again for the American Film Festival in October in Los Angeles.
“It indicates huge interests from worldwide distributors and proving its profit potential for PNG and Gorilla Pictures.”
