Baby killed in bus crash

 A BABY was killed instantly when a bus crashed into a drain near Kamkumung in Lae, Morobe, yesterday, police reported.

Police said the driver’s wife sustained broken legs but he fled the scene of the accident.

Accident victim and mother of five Mary Vura Dubery claimed the bus was speeding and lost control as it approached the roundabout at Kamkumung.

Dubery said she was in the back seat with her four-year-old granddaughter, Georgia.

“The impact swung us underneath the seat and I injured both of my legs,” she said.

Georgia was unharmed.
