Bad road is a pain

Letters

THE Vanimo-Green River highway urgently needs repairs because it has been going from bad to worse since last year’s general election.
The poor state of the road has made it difficult for people to travel and move goods and services and school supplies to and from Vanimo, Green River and Amanab local level governments.
The contributing factor is the suspension of our local MP Belden Namah.
While this is ongoing, a number of serious life-threatening issues have occurred, including the recent road accident which killed five people.
Mothers, too, have died because of birth complications. The bad road condition is stopping the ambulance from attending to them.
The people of Green River and Amanab would like to call on the authorities to step in and address the issues of poor road condition in the District of Vanimo-Green River.
