Bad weather forces CPNG to move Veari Maha Sheild to 2022

DUE consistent wet weather in Port Moresby, a decision has been made to postpone the first Veari Maha Shield match to the start of the 2022 domestic season.
“This is unfortunate, however, with the daily rain leading to extensive surface flooding at Amini Park, there was no other alternative,” Cricket Papua New Guinea said yesterday.
“Having this match to kick off our 2022 season does give us an exciting start to next year. This is an important fixture for Cricket PNG, and we will be playing it with the same coaches and players in 2022.
“We will continue to have as a curtain raiser Lewas Young Guns challenging Lewas Veterans in a Ten-10 match. While this is disappointing for everyone, it doesn’t take away from what has been a historic year for Cricket PNG.
