THE Kimbe Cricket Association will host its men’s T20 matches at the Kimbe Secondary Oval on Sunday with Bakery Bar taking on 21 Makers and Friends facing Sarakolok.
Association secretary Andrew Henry said the second game between Friends and Sarakolok was the top-of-the-table clash with both sides coming off back-to-back wins. The winners will claim top spot.
Sarakolok will rely on the batting of brothers Ferral and Dudu Ifuda, and Daure Samgo against a strong Friends outfit.
However, Friends’ attack should cause some problems for Sarakolok with the likes of fast bowlers Christopher Henry, Donnelly Wangipari, Joe Dennis and Aloisus Nani looking to lift their game.
Friends will also be boosted by a strong batting order led by Elijah Morris and Aunenai Ramei which will require Sarakolok’s bowlers to work overtime.
The Bakery Bar-21 Makers match (11am) will see both teams looking for their first win of the season.
Bakery Bar’s Romley Kauyola and Abi Kauyola will lead the batting order while 21 Makers’ young players will look to step up for a victory.
“Association president Kevin Apamumu and vice-president Peter Henry are urging all teams to come early so we can start the games on time and finish on time,” Henry said. “The vice-president wants the teams to come with their uniforms for the weekend games. And the president wants transparency this season.”
