Balance development, official says

THERE is a need to balance the scale of development in developing the country as regards to cooperation, protectionism and preparedness, according to the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry (POMCCI).
Chief executive officer Stacey O’Nea said it was time to think into the relationship between new information and communications technology and the goal of sustainable and equitable development.
“In the information age, there is a need to balance the scale of development for developing PNG in measures of cooperation, protectionism and preparedness,” she said.
O’Nea made these remarks at the inaugural Innovation PNG 2019 conference held in Port Moresby last Friday.
