PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill has thanked Indonesia for its increased investment in PNG.
O’Neill informed Indonesian Ambassador Andreas Sitepu that in this period of rapid expansion in the oil and gas industry, the opportunities for increased
trade and investment were abound in Papua New Guinea.
O’Neill made the comments when Sitepu paid a courtesy call on him to confirm his attendance next month at the Bali Democratic Forum and to discuss various bilateral issues.
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had early last month sent a special envoy to deliver an invitation to O’Neill to attend the Bali conferen-ce.
The forum will be held on Dec 8-9 and will focus on enhancing democratic participation in a changing world.
O’Neill said he would meet Yudhoyono in Hawaii, on the side of the Apec meet, and discuss the state visit to Indonesia.
He also thanked the government and people of Indonesia for their continuous support to the people of PNG, especially in the areas of trade, security and social issues.
