Ban does not go against culture

POWES Parkop’s ban on betel nuts in the capital does not affect our culture as some are saying. It is only limited to certain areas where the selling, chewing and spitting of betel nuts in public places are any eye sore for the public. Spitting onto the roads and paths is disgusting. I do not chew betel nuts and have always wanted the government to enact laws to govern such behaviour. If we are claiming to be good citizens, we should help keep our places clean by being ethical in our ways of doing things. It is about time we take on board changes in the 21st century and change our mindset. Let us change and make this country a better, healthier and wealthier nation to live in.
