Bank backs healthy choices

PROMOTING sport and healthy choices in life is the message at the heart of a huge and diverse set of lifestyle initiatives and programmes that Bank South Pacific supports, an official says.
Bank company secretary Mary Johns made the statement when presenting the PNG Tennis Association K50,000 for the bank-backed regional tennis programme.
“BSP is proud to note that many children have participated in this programme and it has encouraged them to lead healthy and active lifestyles,” she said.
“By supporting such programmes we help develop our children’s sporting skills and provide opportunities for them to play, have fun and lead healthy and active lifestyles,” she said.
Tennis PNG coach and head coach of the regional tennis programme Kwalum Apisah received the support and said the PNGTA was grateful of the continuous support and partnership with the bank.
“For tennis, the funds will not only be used for the programme component but used to facilitate training for interested youth who can teach the young talents to enhance their skills and develop themselves in a sport they love,” he said. “We have viable, productive tennis programmes in place now educating our volunteers who have become our coaches, administrators and technical officials.”
