THE Kavieng Hospital in New Ireland has received  a new children’s playground from Bank South Pacific.

The project, completed by the BSP Kavieng branch through the Community Projects programme, took just over four weeks to complete.

BSP general manager network Paul Thornton handed over the facilities to the hospital.

“This is the first time that a playground has been built here at the hospital for children who come here to seek treatment,” he said.

“We hope the playground will provide a happy, enjoyable environment for patients here, especially our children who require that added support in medical rehabilitation.”

In 2010, BSP gave medical equipment to the hospital’s accident and emergency unit.

BSP staff took four weeks to prepare the playground area and assist in erecting the playground equipment.

This project is part of a bank-wide community project initiative delivered by branches nationwide.

This year, BSP aims to deliver 33 community projects through its extensive branch network nationwide.
