THE Bank South Pacific has recognised the efforts of its agents who meet their targets through an annual sales awards.
BSP Life PNG country manager Nilson Singh said the agents met their targets after issuing 650 policies with an annual premium of K1.6 million.
He said the result would not have been achieved without the efforts of the insurance agents.
The three top awards went to Daisy Joke Gabriella who secured 108 insurance policies, Robert Toiveguwa with 87 and Valentine Morububun with 83.
Singh said Daisy issued her first policy on Jan 29, 2020 – 22 days after the start of the Wantok Delite Empowerment insurance product.
“While we issued a further 30 policies last February, we started having other challenges,” Singh said.
“Then the Covid-19 hit.
“Not the best of times to sell an insurance product as many businesses had stopped visitors to their premises.”
He said from Dec 31, they managed to issue 650 polices with an annual premium of K1.6mil.
BSP Group chief executive officer Robin Fleming congratulated the agents who received awards and said many businesses offering life insurance had exited the market in PNG.
BSP Life PNG is entering the market and building on the capability that the BSP Group has in Fiji.
“BSP Life will be contributing significantly to BSP’s performance in 10 to 15 years,” Fleming said.
“We are not selling a product that will deliver immediate benefits today, but it can provide long-term financial rewards.
“When you are talking to your clients and your customers about their future needs, you are helping them plan to achieve their financial goals and objectives.”
