Bank security trained
TEN Bank South Pacific security personnel have completed a refresher training course as reserve police officers.
The training focused on the legal use of force while executing their duties, family sexual violence and court file preparations.
The bank and the constabulary have been working together since 2000 to up-skill officers.
The presentation of certificates was witnessed by BSP deputy chief operating officer Frank van der Poll and National Capital District Metro Supt Perou N’dranou.
Van der Poll said it was not only the bank’s commitment but a personal commitment they made to the constabulary to uphold the law, protect the community and properties.
He said security was an integral part of the BSP’s operation and pledged to continue supporting the police force.
N’dranou urged the 10 officers to perform their duties as police officers.
“You are police officers now and will carry out duties that are required of police personnel,” N’dranou said.
The 10 officers are Pirika Kupa, Philip Gadoyala, Patrick Hane, Nicky Onom, Hercules Killal, Cecilia Ongugo, Susan Ma’a, Don Karau, Jack Aisi and Pokana Kopi.
