BANK South Pacific Goroka branch staff last Friday cleaned up the Eastern Highlands town as part of their community project.
They do this every Friday morning between 7.30am and 8.30am before work.
Goroka branch manager Reuben Elijah said since the initiative was launched in April last year, they had conducted the clean-up to ensure the main shopping and business areas remained in good shape.
He said the ‘Don’t dump, Bin it’ theme was an ongoing exercise in line with the bank’s annual ‘Go Green’ clean-up programme that was held nationwide.
Elijah said business houses, corporate organisations and the public were doing business in main commercial zones of the town every day.
“There is a great need to take care of main business areas to ensure it remains environmentally-friendly so businesses can flourish.”
He said the staff were always ready to participate in the exercise and thanked them for their loyalty.
He invited other business houses to join in the clean-up campaign.
