Banking in Baimuru

 THE people of Baimuru in Gulf will now enjoy basic banking services without having to travel for days to Port Moresby.

Bank South Pacific (BSP) recently set up an agent outlet at Wabo in Baimuru district.  

The operators of Wabo trade store were given hands-on training as BSP agents so they could provide local customers basic banking services such as withdrawals and deposits.

Workers at the Elk-Antelope gas fields, including locals, who frequent the trade store for basic goods can now do their banking there.  

Alberts Kerut, director of Elk Antelope Gas Project Landowner Association, was behind the move for BSP set up an agency at Wabo village.
