WESTPAC goal shooter Elina Ripason came in the second half to score the winning goal as they beat over Bank South Pacific 13-12 yesterday.

It was Ripason’s service  thatWestpac was banking on to score the match-winner.

Despite, a few ball-handling errors, Westpac led right through to the last whistle to walk over BSP in the premier division match of the Private Companies Netball competition at the Rita Flynn netball courts in Port Moresby.

BSP started strongly in the first half despite missing several key players from last season like goal shooter Jacklyn Hape and goal keeper Betty Kila.

Instead, the green bankers were led by regular Cecilia Agelavu with the likes Dianne Lahari and youngster Antoinette Kila to push Westpac to their limits.

Both teams defended well which caused them a 5-5 tie at half time.

But in the second half, Westpac lifted their game when lofty Ripason came in.

Her combination with fellow goal attack Jacqueline Kwalu gave their team the edge.

BSP brought in sharp shooter Renagi Mulina and Theresa Mulina to spice up their attacking play but Westpac held on to for victory.
