THE Kina Bank will bring off-shore jobs in the fields of operations, technology, credit and risk to the country, according to chief executive officer Greg Pawson.
Pawson told a customer function recently in Port Moresby that the bank was engaged in a programme of transformation that would see jobs created in those fields.
“Since we announced the acquisition of ANZ PNG’s retail, commercial and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) business, we have been expanding our operations,” he said.
“We’ve been building our back-office functions to support the new products and services we will introduce throughout the year – from credit cards to mobile payment options.
“Currently, these support roles are performed overseas by ANZ in places such as Fiji, Singapore and India. We’re bringing them back.
“This is a great growth story, not just for Kina Bank but for PNG.
“As our business continues to expand we’ll be able to offer greater opportunities for everyone.”
Pawson said Kina Bank was known for its high-performing staff “who bring experience and creativity to the business”.
“We have the best people in the industry. That’s one of the reasons we’re a better banking alternative for customers,” he said.
