Hardware Haus Ltd presented a set of gardening tools to the PNG Defence Force yesterday as its contribution to the Murray Barracks clean-up campaign, which is in line with NCDC’s keep Port Moresby clean strategy.
Hardware Haus general manager Rahul Amin presented the tools, saying that they were happy to be associated with the PNGDF’s overall reform process.
“Hardware Haus is proud to donate these garden tools to help with this very worthy cause.
“I assure the Defence Force of our involvement in the future,” Mr Amin said.
Lt-Col Carl Wrakonei received the tools, saying that the initial comprehensive inspection was conducted in June and the second was conducted this month.
“Murray Barracks is the face of the PNGDF and so it has to be neat and tidy before the units can be directed to maintain their units as a collective drive to change the image of the force,” Lt-Col Wrakonei said.
He said the engagement of City Pharmacy, which owns the Hardware Haus, to such an activity was not the first time as the company was requested to provide donations and made presentations at Igam Barracks in Lae from 2005-07.
