THE Hebou Papua New Guinea Barramundis remain unbeaten in the Hebou International T20 Series after a crushing nine-wicket win over the Cricket PNG (CPNG) Academy 11 at Amini Park yesterday.
The Academy 11 were restricted to 126/8 thanks to some disciplined bowling from the Barramundis.
Charles Amini Jr led the way taking 3-18, while Norman Vanua (2-13) and Chad Soper (1-23) snared three wickets between them.
Anthony Vare continued his good form hitting a run-a-ball 36 batting at the top of the order while Hiri Hiri made a valuable 28 runs for the Academy side.
In reply, the Barras got off to a flying start with Tony Ura (28 runs off 9 balls) smashing 20 runs off the first over bowled by Vare and never looked back.
After Ura fell off the bowling of Eisa Eka (1-20), Assad Vala (47 not out off 36 balls) and Amini (48 not out off 36 balls) smashed an unbeaten 98-run second-wicket partnership to guide PNG to the victory target in only 13.3 overs.
Amini Jr was awarded the player-of-the-match award for his all-round performance.
