Basil a rare leader

Letters

I ADMIRE the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Bulolo MP the late Sam Basil since he came into power.
He was born a leader.
A very down to earth person yet tough in decision making.
He always knows what is best for his people.
He is truly one of those rare leaders with good qualities.
His son when reading his eulogy mentioned the time when they hiked because of bad road conditions and the vehicle could not get through.
He has done that and truly feels how his people feel when in such situations.
The message by Prime Minister during the late Deputy Prime Minister’s funeral about how they drove from Goroka to Lae than to Bulolo without considering their titles was something only fearless and bold leaders would do.
He has left a gap for the people of Wau-Bulolo, Morobe and Papua New Guinea as a whole.
My condolences to his family.
Your legacy will live on in the hearts of the Morobeans and pray that we produce more Sam Basil characters in politics.
Farewell Ari, our white kumul.
