Basil needs 2,000 more to meet 50% mark

DEPUTY PNG Party leader for Mamose and MP Sam Basil surges to a commanding lead with a clear 20,457 primary votes in count 31 in Bulolo, Morobe province, at 4.30pm yesterday.    
Basil led since counting started last Wednesday.
A total of 42,739 voters cast their votes in Bulolo and Basil polled 20,457 votes so far and needs another 2,000 votes to meet the absolute majority mark of 50% plus one as required under the LPV system.           
Former MP John Muingnepe polled 2,461, Samuel Manoah 2,254, Bou Fulufu Bisa 1,901 and Samson Napo in fifth 1,639 votes respectively.
