Basil’s gamble pays off

Before I congratulate Sam Basil for his appointment as Finance Minister, I reckon there are some considerations the NEC could have done.
There are many other neutral Papua New Guinean ministers from which a replacement for James Marape could have been done. Do they not have the credentials for this ministry?
Basil, in anticipating a ministry in the current government, made this bold move to have his Pangu Pati cross the floor to the PNC-led Government. It was for this move he was given the communications ministry. He is now the Finance Ministry. Basil, you are now given a much more senior ministry for which Marape had set a yet good standards.
Congratulations to and the hundreds of Pangu Pati followers in the country for this promotional appointment.
