Basketball tourneys cancelled

THE Basketball Federation Papua New Guinea has cancelled the National Club championships and Senior All Stars tournament for this year.
This is due to the PNG Games on November 14-27 in Lae, Morobe province.
It would be a burden on centres to attend more than one major tournament in a year which would be quite taxing on them to source adequate funds.
These were reasons given by BFPNG when it released its 2014 calendar.
BFPNG secretary Karo Lelai said the federation will instead introduce the 3-on-3 basketball championship in April to be staged in Madang.
The annual general meeting will also be staged at the same time and all members are urged to attend.
