Bawa fronts up at National Court

RECENTLY reinstated NCD operations commander Supt Andy Bawa appeared briefly before the National Court yesterday for the first mention of the preparatory listings for his trial hearing.
Bawa, who was reinstated to his substantive position two weeks ago, appeared before court judge Justice Panuel Mogish who set Bawa’s next listings hearing for July 4.
On March 1, Waigani Committal Court magistrate Cosmos Bidar confirmed Bawa to stand trial in the National Court, saying there was sufficient evidence to commit the senior police officer.
Bawa was charged with double-dipping.
