SIX children of the 6-Mile Early Childhood Learning Center witnessed the release of chef pastry books by the Buk Bilong Pikinini (BbP) on Tuesday at a hotel in Port Moresby.
It is the latest in the seven series of books made available by the BbP.
The children visited the hotel’s kitchen to observe what the chef does, and witness how cakes are decorated.
Public relations and fundraising manager Dorothy Koch said the book had inspirational stories for children on how to get qualifications for various professions, and the importance of education.
Koch said the first six series were released last year.
Books yet to be launched include how to be a heavy equipment operator, a pharmacist, a banker, an architect and engineer.
Executive officer Leanne Resson thanked the management and staff of Airways Hotel for launching book week and the BbP new reader series.
Managing director of the Hebou construction/ Constantinou Group of companies George Constantinou said early childhood education for children was important as it created their foundation in learning.
“Education is key aspect in everything to help build a, stronger workforce and improved community,” he said.
