Seven Border Development Authority technical officers have completed two weeks of training on the use and application of a state-of-the-art infrastructural designing software programme.
The officers with their executive director for operation Barnabas Neausemale attended the training on automatic computer aided design (Autocad), Photoshop, Prezi and Google sketch-up.
This training will help enhance and make people understand and visualise what engineers and architectures have in mind on a project they are designing.
This training was conducted by Melamaju Ltd consultant and training facilitator, Reeveezee M Antony at their office in Waigani, Port Moresby last week.
Neausemale said the course was to help them design quality infrastructure for the border and surveillance posts.
“BDA does designs for health, education, roads and water and sanitation projects for remote communities in the six border provinces,” he said.
“We have to provide quality designs for the National Executive Council to approve the projects.
“If we do not provide quality designs, than those designs don’t get approved.
“This then causes a setback for the people as this project will improve their lives.”
Neausemale said the training was to encourage his officers to keep up with the latest changes in engineering technology.
The authority is still awaiting funds from the national government for the past two years to start building the Wutung, Kangu and Weam border posts.
