Be business minded, VC urges students

Education

UNIVERSITY of PNG vice-chancellor Professor Frank Griffin told a group of students attending a workshop to have an entrepreneurship mindset in their various fields of studies.
The students participated in a workshop programme called “Beyond the textbook” organised by the school of business and public policy and sponsored by ExxonMobil.
“This is a privilege programme,” Griffin said.
“You must make use of the opportunity given.
“ExxonMobil PNG always steps in to sponsor every school in UPNG when an academic event arises.”
Professor Lekshmi Pillai, the school’s executive dean, said there would be a competition.
“No registration fee is required,” he said.
“After the workshop, details of the competition will be announced.
“The competition will be held on July 22.
“The winners of the business plan competition will be given cash prizes.”
