Be mindful when live-streaming games

Letters

IT was interesting to see in a PNG Football Association (PNGFA) media report that President John Kapi Natto acknowledged Fifa’s help in promoting soccer in PNG and the region.
I have been one that continues to ask PNGFA to improve its live-streaming efforts for both conferences in the Women’s National Soccer League competition.
Last week, there was no live-streaming of Lae matches.
How can women’s soccer be promoted in Papua New Guinea if you continue to live-stream matches in one venue and not others?
That is unfair and unprofessional.
I noticed in the PNGFA report that the 2023 Women’s World Cup would be hosted in Australia and New Guinea.
That is surprising news.
Was it supposed to be New Guinea, New Caledonia or New Zealand?
Is PNGFA keen on providing the best for its fans in the nation and abroad, or is it still operating in the same way that it was in the 1980s and 1990s?
PNGFA should make its Facebook page interesting, engaging and informative.
Its staff should know how to effectively use social media to engage fans and other stakeholders.
This is the 21st Century, we are not in the 1980s.
There was an incident that was captured on the live-streamed video from Madang on the weekend where two men swore at each other in the background before the match between Tusbab Laidamon FC and Rainy Lae FC started.
Their voices were captured in the video.
The swearing continued for some time, even after the game was on.
Can the PNGFA beef up its security and banish such violent people from entering match venues?
The same should apply to drunkards or those who carry alcohol into match venues.
The safety of players and spectators should be guaranteed at all times.
There are children and families who attend to enjoy the games.
Protect them from unruly or intoxicated hooligans.
Anyone who is violent or under the influence of alcohol or drugs should be prevented from entering National Soccer League match venues.
We hope that such swearing incidents in Madang will not occur again.
It was viewed by people in PNG and abroad as well.
PNGFA should wake up and do the right thing.
