PORT Moresby Bears softball club’s preparation for the Inter Oil national club championships during the Independence weekend received a major boost last Saturday with the presentation of two sets of playing uniforms.
The club’s men and women’s teams received the apparel worth K2,500, courtesy of Gearing Pacific Ltd and PNG Tailoring.
“The women are the defending champions and the kind gesture by the two companies will really boost the morale of our players.
“We are out to defend the title but will no doubt expect stiff opposition from the other centres as well, especially Lae and Kokopo,” Bears patron Chris Bais said.
More than 25 teams have confirmed their attendance at the championships in Lae which starts tomorrow and ends on Monday.
