Bears, Power in clash of the second round

THE Port Moresby Softball Association men’s A grade clash between the PNG Power and Bears is expected to go down to the wire at the Bisini diamonds on Sunday.
Bears are looking to make it two in a row while PNG Power are looking to notch a win.
Power will get a boost with the return of Isikel Tovia Jr along with with brothers Danny and Demas as well as Eddie Simba, Eugene Tovue and Paul Tabete.
Bears led by slugger by Dick Bart Jr, Alfred Kinakava, James Lumaris, Jonty Malum and Consie Bais have the quality to make it interesting over the full seven innings.
The Yokomo-Gazelle clash is the other notable A grade fixture.
Yokomo looked poised and clinical last week particularly with the bat when they dismantled United Brothers. Yokomo’s Micha Zale, Taki Zale, Adrian Chan and Clifford Kouse were good last week but get better with skipper Paul Bogen joining them in the fray.
Gazelle coming of a loss to Saints need pitcher-stopper combination Saga Gimi and Tony Karani to contain Yokomo’s batters.
Gazelle’s card includes Gabriel Pamel at the helm but need Demas Totil Jr, Bernard Pamel, Pomaleu Pomaleu, Francis Tony and Francis Pomahun to rise up to the challenge. Fixtures: A – Bears v PNG Power, Yokomo v Gazzelle,Kikila Cats v Defence, Brown Eagles v Stingerz.
