Being independent and transparent

Letters

IT sends shock waves to law abiding citizens to read that police has been allegedly sitting on high profile complaints against 40 sitting members of parliament now concludes that parliamentarians are now above PNG laws as far as counts on alleged corruption cases are concerned .
Some say that there also specialised so-called “pimps” who run errands between arresting officers and suspects to suppress arrests and it’s not surprising that none of the 40 MPs have been arrested by the Police Fraud and Anti-Corruption. Police operations and systems urgently needs a big cleanup.
Any police constable has to be accorded his or her constitutional duty to administer all forms of policing to attend to complaints and charge suspects regardless of their status to uphold the notion that no one is above the law.
Our Police Minister needs to make police duties and function more independent and transparent without fear or favour.
