Believe in yourself

Letters

ONE of the biggest fears of young people, especially students, is the fear of failure.
Whether we like it or not, countless students will be thrown out of the education system this year just as the years before.
What will you do if you are in that category?
It will never be easy.
You will have people laughing at you.
You will experience criticism, rejection and people will look down on you.
The truth is, failure is not permanent.
It is not final.
Steve Jobs dropped out of Ridge College.
He was not a very good student. He was poor.
Yet, he believed he could give something back to the world.
What did he give back?
Jobs’ failure is the reason why you and I have a smartphone.
He was the founder of Apple.
You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great.
Thomas Edison was only in school for three months. His teacher removed him from school because he was a slow learner.
Despite that, he believed in himself.
He believed he would give something back to the world.
Edison invented light bulb.
If you have a light bulb at your house, that was made possible through his invention.
It seems easy right?
It’s easy because someone who dropped out of school believed in himself.
The choice is yours.
You can either dwell on failure and regrets for the rest of your life or use it as a motivation for your success.
