THE Inter Wave Youths (IWY) will host the ‘Believe PNG 2018’ concert on Oct 26 at the Port Moresby Football Stadium.
Teams will come from Melbourne and Brisbane in Australia as well as a band.
During the week leading up to the concert, the team will visit schools, hospitals and Bomana Jail.
The IWY is a large local movement involving a collection of church youth groups form different churches.
In the last four years, IWY has attracted about 8000 youths to come together in fellowship and see the Word of God transform and inspire their lives to contribute meaningfully to their families and society.
This year IWY held the inaugural ‘Wave Walk’ that saw over 700 people walk the streets of Port Moresby, spreading the love of Jesus by handing out food and drinks to city folk, irrespective of race, gender and age.
Last year, they had a major concert campaign in Port Moresby, Believe PNG 2017 which due to many factors had a negative aftermath.
This is not hindering IWY.
This year they are challenging themselves to improve on organising the concert and providing tight security so no mishap will occur.
“We still believe that God has still got great plans for our people, our city – so we tackle it again, aiming to better it,” IWY said in a statement.
