Betel nut ban working

Letters

THE banning of betel nut in Port Moresby has made the city cleaner.
Betel nut chewers should use their God-given mind when chewing betel nuts because it is not the responsibility of the government to look after the city.
As Papua New Guineans, even though we may come from different provinces, we should know that Port Moresby is our capital city.
It is very embarrassing to see people spitting betel nut in the face of Asians working to build our roads in places like Erima and Waigani.
Asians are here to help improve on services and we should therefore be ashamed to be spitting in front of them.
As Papua New Guineans, let us stand together and show some kind of patriotic feeling towards our own country.
We cannot afford to live elsewhere. This is our country and our city. Let’s keep it clean and safe.
