Beware of candidates offering to buy votes

Letters

NOTICE how everyone seems to take notice of others sufferings now more than after the 2014 elections?
Now that 2017 elections preparations are underway one cannot ignore the act of tokenism around the country by various parties and the government.
I cannot help but questions were they genuinely unaware of the people’s sufferings or were they
waiting to help them towards the elections so they can buy their votes?
Vote buying can happen in so many ways and upon discussions with my family and friends a trend seems to emerge the fear of coup vote buying.
It is no secret that racism shows its ugly face during elections but the fear of another coup could also feed the monster called vote buying.
A quick reality check is that another coup would mean economic death for our nation so could this fear fuel vote buying in our country.
My close ones say they are tired of coups and wouldn’t vote their leader of choice because they fear that it will bring another coup to our shores.
So can we classify this as vote buying?
If yes, then how do we bring justice and ensure the next election is indeed fair and free?
