A FAMILY from Ialibu in Southern Highlands will leave for the Philippines next week to help spread the gospel.
PNG Bible Church pastor George Irepo will be accompanied by wife Vicky, daughters Sharina, 12, and Shylla, 11.
They will be in the Phillipines for five years while Irepo spreads the Word.
Irepo dropped out of the formal education system after completing grade 10 in 1992 at the Mendi High School.
He resorted to subsistence farming for 16 years.
In 2006, he attended the PNG Bible Church in Kaupena.
In 2007, he was selected to attend the Pacific Bible College in Pabrabuk.
He studied Theology for four years, graduating in 2010.
Between February and June last year he was called to the Philippines as a relief missionary.
He was asked by the church there to return and said he was happy to do so.
Irepo said it would be rewarding.
He thanked the PNG Bible Church community for their support and prayers.
He said in the Philippines, materialism was overtaking people’s lives and he wanted to change that.
