THE Melanesian Nazarene Bible College saw 32 participants graduating with a Certificate of Completion in film production last Saturday.
Among those at Ninge, in the Wanda Knox Memorial Church, in Jiwaka, were four women and 28 men, the majority of whom were trainee pastors at the college.
Notable graduates were national church leaders and senior officers from the publication, children’s ministries and the national board.
Hagen district superintendent and National Nazarene Church board deputy chairman Peter Dekene and wife Catherine were two of the certificate recipients.
Dekene said his fellow graduates were able to write the script of a story from the Bible, do a story board, visualise scene composition, operate a camera, direct shooting, do editing and produce a film.
The training was conducted by Asia Pacific communication coordinator Luvernne Ward IV in liaison with the Papua New Guinea national communication coordinator, Reverend Daniel Eka.
With the skills and knowledge acquired during the training, the Nazarene Church is now able to produce quality films and videos to reach out to people in spreading the word of God apart from radio programmes and press publications.
