Bidar commits man to trial for assault

THE Waigani Committal Court has committed a man charged with causing grievous bodily harm to two people to stand trial in the national court.
Emmanuel Russel Nui, 24, and from Hagen Central, Western Highlands, allegedly attacked Ismael Kuli and Christopher Pagasa with a bush knife on Aug 23 last year.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar ruled that according   medical reports for the two victims, there was sufficient evidence to commit Nui to trial.
Nui was allegedly drinking alcohol with his friends at a hotel in Port Moresby when an unknown person punched him in the face.
Frustrated, Nui pulled out a bush knife from his car before attacking Kuli and Pagasa, who sustained injuries.
Nui will appear for listing in the national court on July 4. His bail was extended.
