Big bang theory

Momase

THE impact and sound of a mysterious bang had shocked the entire villages of hinterland and valley in Garaina in Bulolo, Morobe, between 10-11am on Monday.
Wau health centre supervisor Tobias Werip, a local from Sim village, confirmed on Tuesday that there was a strange big bang but the cause is not known.
“There are no bombing and deaths whatsoever,” Werip said.
“People are living peacefully after the big bang which did not have any impact on them and their properties.”
He said the big bang occurred at the head waters of Waria, Ono and Supurua rivers near Mt Strong along the Owen Stanley Range.
“The locals confirmed that there was a mysterious big bang that shocked the hinterland Waria villages of Kasangare, Sim, Ono, Gataipa, Sopa and Bubu, and along the valley from Bapi to Omora, Garaina station down to Garasa and Asama” Werip said.
“The actual cause remains a mystery.”
Bulolo police station commander Leo Kaikas said police received no report of such an incident after verifying with Waria local level government manager Muttu Kalang on Tuesday.
However, Kaikas said police would investigate the cause of the strange noise.
