Big Petero lands in POM

 QUEENSLAND and Australian rugby league great Petero Civoniceva arrived yesterday for his six-day visit courtesy of Nambawan Trohpy Haus Limited.

The giant Fiji-born Redcliffe native  was met by NWTL marketing department personnel led by Joel Sarmenta at the Jackson International Airport.

The 37-year-old was whisked off in the NWTL arranged vehicle straight to his Hotel room for before the start of the hectic business and social programme which included the official opening of the PNG Kopitiam Resturant along Waigani Drive last night.

The most capped Kangaroo forward will be attending several product launches and promotion in Port Moresby and Lae during the week.

He will conduct his first rugby league coaching clinic at Coronation Primary School this morning and tomorrow, he will visit the Port Moresby General Hospital before flying to Lae for the next leg of promotions and launches.

Civoniceva was in Port Moresby earlier this year to help launch the 2013 Digicel Cup. He played for the Kangaroo Legends against the Kumul Legends last year and has visited the country with the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII. He is set to represent Fiji at the Rugby League World Cup in October in the UK.
