Billionaire visiting WNB

Business

STATE Enterprises Minister Sasindran Muthuvel says one of Australia’s wealthiest businessmen and leading philanthropists, Dr Andrew Forrest, is in West New Britain.
Dr Forrest, who is the founder, largest shareholder and chairman of Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) Ltd, is in the country leading an FMG investment delegation.
The 59-year-old billionaire is using time between meetings, site tours and other business priorities, to join a historic search mission to locate the remains of Beaufort bomber 188 of his uncle David John Forrest.
David was an Australian pilot who was shot down by Japanese forces near Gasmata during the WWII in 1943.
“We welcome the interest Dr Forrest and the FMG team has in our country, and the potential investment in our economy,” Muthuvel said.
