Blatant disregard of our laws

Letters

THE LGBTQ (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender) day came around this week.
All over the world lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender and basically anyone who is not heterosexual, including some tolerant heterosexuals, celebrated that day.
In PNG, homosexuality is illegal but is not enforced, it’s just frowned upon.
During that day, the European Union raised the LGBTQ flag in PNG.
I personally have nothing against gay people.
My view is, what someone does in their bed with another consenting adult is none of my business and will not factor in my opinion of them.
My problem with this situation is how the European Union had a blatant disregard for our nation’s laws and enforced their agendas on us.
This is reminiscent of the colonial times when they enforced their agendas on us with complete disrespect for our culture and customary laws.
