BMOBILE has confirmed that it will not be contacting the winner of its Krismas Cashpot promotion via text message.
The telecommunications company in a statement said this was to guard against the risk of malicious third parties sending text messages to bmobile customers in an attempt to mislead them into believing that they had won in bmobile’s Krismas Cashpot.
“Please be informed that bmobile will not be contacting winners of its Krismas Cashpot promotion via text message,” the company said.
“If you do receive such a messages, kindly contact us and report that,” it said.
“Winners in the bmobile’s Krismas Cashpot promotion will be called live on radio station FM100.
“To win, the customer must, upon receiving a live call from us, answer within five rings and say, ‘Merry Krismas bmobile’.
“If you did not do that then you have not won.”
The company warned that anyone found guilty of falsely representing themselves as employees of bmobile would be prosecuted.
