MORATA Primary School board and management and board members have denied claims that K200,000 of subsidy money and other contributions are missing from the school’s bank account.

Headmaster Philip Tiki, board chairman Peter Ngan, treasurer Steven Tandaku, community leader Michael Ambros and two other parents and citizens’ representatives yesterday fronted up at The National to deny the newspaper’s report on Monday.

In that report, a senior teacher and a parent claimed that only K432.60 was left in the school’s bank account. Before that, first quarter school subsidies totalling K177,012 was paid to the school. On top of that, Moresby Northwest MP and Health Minister Michael Malabag gave the school K50,000.

Tiki said the report was “misleading, unrealistic and unjustified”.
