Boats a need for coastal and islands people

SUMKAR MP Chris Yer Nangoi has called on the Transport Department to consider providing vessels for coastal and island provinces.
Nangoi told Parliament on Friday during grievance debate that while the Government was spending money building highways and roads for provinces and districts on the mainland, those on the islands were without transport services.
He said there were many islands in Madang, including Karkar, which have no link to infrastructure and those islands were isolated from government services.
